Speech and Language
I have been working as a Speech Language Specialist at Cranbury School since 2003. I have always loved working with children, and initially attending school to become a classroom teacher. During my student teaching, I realized that the Speech Language Pathologists always seemed to be having the most fun! After working for a few years in Early Intervention, I decided to go back to school to see how I could join in on the fun! Upon graduating from Emerson College, I began my career in the New Jersey public schools. I left the public school system for two years to work for a local private practice, but found that I missed the energy of a public school so I soon found my way back.
During speech and language sessions, students are working on their personal goals as outlined in their IEPs. Sessions may focus on a variety of communication skills such as: receptive language, expressive language, higher level language, vocabulary, pragmatic language, articulation, or fluency. I currently work primarily with kindergarten, second grade, fourth grade, and sixth through eighth grade students.
When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our twin daughters and our dog, Dewey.
