Cranbuddies Integrated Pre-School Program
The Cranbury School District offers two integrated pre-school programs for the 2020-2021 school year.
Three-year-old typically developing children are welcome to attend the Cranbuddies Pre-school Program on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 8:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. The three-year-old class also includes children who require a special education program. The class is taught by a teacher certified for Early Childhood Development and Special Education and a teacher assistant. Five typically developing children will be accepted into the morning program. In order to be considered for acceptance, a child must be a Cranbury resident and eligible for Kindergarten in September 2022.
The Cranbuddies four-year-old program will meet five afternoons a week from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The class is taught by a teacher certified for Early Childhood Development and Special Education, and a teacher assistant. Four typically developing children will be accepted into the program, which also includes children who require a special education program. In order to be considered for acceptance, a child must be a Cranbury resident and eligible for Kindergarten in September 2021. If your child is a current 3-year-old general education student in the Cranbuddies program and you would like for him/her to participate in the 4-year-old program, parents are required to submit an application for the 4-year-old program, along with a deposit fee of $100.00, no later than Friday, March 20, 2020.
Transportation for the typically developing children is the responsibility of the parent; however, subscription busing is offered. Please contact the transportation department for more information at (609) 395-1700, Ext. 223.
If you are a Cranbury resident interested in finding out more about the Cranbuddies Pre-school Program, please attend the Open House on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 in Room 11 of the Cranbury School from 5:30-6:00 p.m. for the three-year-old program and 6:00-6:30 p.m. for the four-year old program. Applications will be available at that time and will also be available in the child study team office beginning on February 20th. A deposit fee of $100 is required and applications are due no later than Friday, March 20, 2020.
Parents of pre-schoolers who may be in need of special education services are also encouraged to contact the Child Study Team for further information regarding the pre-school program. The program is available to eligible special needs pre-schoolers at no cost to the parent and transportation is provided.
