I wish I could fly to the sky Welcome Back to School 2018! What are you guys excited about this year? The volleyball game ... the musical ... band... women's studies club... Jam Fest ... 3D printers... kindness club... and our new webpage. This is Susan Genco the Chief School Administrator and Principal of the Cranbury School. We are excited to announce that we will be launching our new Cranbury School District website at the end of this month. This new site will feature a fresh and functional design we can better celebrate the Excellence of our students and staff. The development of this new site was driven by the feedback and insights we gathered during our recent Strategic Planning Initiative and Communications Audit. With our stated Strategic Planning Goal of "Enhancing Connections and Communictions" as our Guiding Light, we listened to parents, staff and community members who told us they wanted to find information quickly and easily, know more about the amazing things going on in inside and outside of our classrooms and enjoy a better web experience on mobile devices. And we listened our new site is an exciting fresh start, and our news and announcements section allows us to showcase the activities and accomplishments of our students and staff. Our Quick Links section gives us instant access to the pages we use the most including new teacher pages that feature fresh content, biographies of our staff and a way to easily check them. Each section begins with a description of the information featured so you can easily learn where you want to go. Beginning with "About Us" tab, viewers can understand the workings and performance of our district. The Board of Education section has a host of information including bios of our board members, our meeting schedule and a trove of financial documents and information that have earned us our reputation for open communication and transparency. Our Curriculum Maps can help you understand what we teach and our plans for delivering differentiated, meaningful instruction in all areas of our curriculum. It is a very valuable resource for parents who want to better understand the structure and content of all curricular programming at Cranbury School. Under the programs and services tab, you will find that we offer a wide variety of programs and services in order to create a comprehensive educational experience for every student. The student life section may be the one you use the most, as it contains much of the day-to-day information we need such as calendars, schedules, lunch menus, and the like. And last but certainly not least is the Community Section section that connects us with the organizations that help us achieve so many wonderful things for our students. The PTO...the Education Foundation... the Cranbury Lions Club and of course our partners in the township government. After our site launches, we will be sharing with you how you can download the Cranbury School app that will push alerts and information from this site right to your phone. Our goal is to make this website a place that you want to visit frequently, one that celebrates the true spirit of what makes the Cranbury School District so exceptional . We can't wait to share it with you! the Cranbury School Parent-Teacher Organization promotes the well-being and enrichment of each of our students through activities that stimulate their physical emotional and cultural growth if you're a new family to the Cranbury School or just haven't joined yet it's not too late please stop by the cafeteria tonight to become a member membership forms can also be found on the PTO page of the Cranbury School website as you may know the Cranbury Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides funding to school capital projects and grants for educational programs contributions to the CEF are tax-deductible the items funded through the CEF over the past 20 years are extensive. In the next five years we have several exciting projects to fund so we are starting new campaigns and will need additional assistance from our community. The most recent purchase was to 3D printers to be used by industrial arts and the arts department as well as our enrichment programs. This cutting-edge technology will enhance what are students understanding of engineering and design with tangible evidence of their creative efforts The following are the scheduled events that we will hold this school year Family Movie Night The Snowflake Dance Letter writing,  our annual craft show and a Cranbury food truck festival. If you are interested in volunteering for any of these events please submit the forms through your child's classroom teacher just as the leaves on the tree are all different so is every child, teacher staff member and Community member who makes up Cranbury Township. The roots and trunk of the tree are symbolic of the strong foundation all of us provide for our students through our partnerships teachings guidance and unconditional support. The variation and shading throughout the mural reflect the diversity of perspectives and identities in our student body and community. As we begin the new school year, I speak for all of our outstanding staff members when I say that we look forward to welcoming everyone back to school as we remain steadfast in our commitment to helping every child achieve their personal best.
