About Me

Welcome to Ms. Shafranski’s Kindergarten Home Page! I am looking forward to a wonderful year with all of your children, as we learn, have fun, and grow up together!

As I will be learning all about your children this year, I thought you might like to learn more about me. I graduated from The College of New Jersey in 2000, with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education, and a Minor in History. I began working in the Ewing Township School District, where I taught Kindergarten and Third Grade.

In 2009, I received my Masters of Education in Reading, also from The College of New Jersey, as well as my New Jersey Reading Specialist Certificate. That same year, I came to Cranbury School to work as the Literacy Coach and Reading Specialist. In my 10 years here, I have also taught Basic Skills, Fifth Grade Language Arts, and First Grade. Last year, my twins, Seamus and Delaney joined the Cranbury School Family as Kindergarteners, and I couldn’t have been happier with the experience they had!

I am returning to Kindergarten this year, which is a fun and exciting opportunity for me to truly influence our youngest learners, help them learn to love school, and guide them on these important early years of schooling. This is a responsibility I take very seriously, and will each day as I enter our classroom.

There are many things your child will learn this year (and I am sure I will learn a lot from them as well), and I will use this page as a way of sharing with you what we are doing and learning. I will also periodically post pictures of all the fun we are having! I hope these pictures will bring smiles to your faces, and I am sure the children’s enthusiasm will be infectious!

I would like to leave you with what I have made as my mantra for this school year; something I remind myself of each morning as I enter Room 1 to greet your children:

“There are three ways to ultimate success: The first way is to be kind. The second way is to be kind. The third way is to be kind.” ~Fred Rogers

I am looking forward to an exciting and inspiring year with both you and your children!
