Municipal Alliance Sponsors "Social Media Land Mines" Workshops

Dear Parents,

Cranbury Township Municipal Alliance Against Drugs and Alcohol hosted two student assembly programs, a staff session and a parent night in an effort to help educate audiences on the positive and negative effects of social media.

We had a great turnout at the parent workshop on October 22nd! Several resources were shared by presenter Robert Hackenson during the parent session that are invaluable ways to help all families navigate social media:

Dynamic Influence Resource Page -  This site includes some great resources and apps for parents to help monitor their child’s social media accounts, and understand acronyms and abbreviations that are commonly used among adolescents.

Those in attendance also learned of a special parent resource portal provided by Dynamic Influence. Below, please find the instructions for how to create an account and access these resources:

Finally, the Web site commonsensemedia.org, is a not-for-profit organization that writes reviews and provides valuable information to parents about popular topics and trends in social media, books, video games, movies, etc.

Thank you once again to the Cranbury Township Municipal Alliance Against Drugs and Alcohol for sponsoring our student assembly programs, the faculty training, and the parent/community event.

We hope this information will be helpful to all of our families!

Best regards,
