Cranbury School Celebrates Girl Scout Troop 72911 Receipt of the Bronze Award!

On Sunday, November 17th Cranbury Girl Troop 72911, along with the West Windsor Plainsboro Girl Scouts, were welcomed by Rachel Holland, Vice President Board of Directors for the Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey, Senator Linda Greenstein, Assemblyman Dan Benson, Mayor of West Windsor Township Hemant Marathe, Plainsboro Township Committee-person David Bander, and West Windsor Board of Education President Michele Kaish.  Along with Dr. Genco and all of the proud families and Girl Scout leaders, these dignitaries celebrated the accomplishments of Girl Scout Gold, Silver, and Bronze Award recipients. Collectively, 44 community and global projects were recognized!! 
 
Cranbury Girl Troop 72911 includes Cynthia Graham, Alice Irons, Lily Berkery, Margaret Collins, Madeline Klein, Jessica Marschner, Kate Mazzoni, Sophie Raymond, Emily Suttmeier, and Sarah Cate Walker. These young women leaders, under the direction of Troop Leaders Kelly Klein, Jessica Irons, Kathy Dombrowski and Diana Berkery, offered troop-wide opportunities throughout the year to help younger Daisy and Brownie Troops, as well as girl-led opportunities for individual and partner projects highlighted below: 
  • Babysitting the younger children of the first grade Daisy Troop Leaders
  • Crafting and donating Thanksgiving cards with the first grade Daisy Troop
  • Sorting Thanksgiving Drive Food Baskets with the first grade Daisy Troop 
  • Assisting the second grade Brownie Troop with running Cranbury's Winter Workshop
  • Partnering with the first grade Daisy Troop for Thinking Day 
  • Running a Kindergarten Daisy meeting on a dance lesson 
  • Running a first grade Daisy meeting on shoe lace tying
  • Teaching the third grade Brownie Troop on how to organize and run a donation drive, and donated the collected pajamas to RISE in Hightstown, NJ
  • Teaching a Girl Scout Troop about Plantlife with the Sunflower Project 
  • Running a Girl Scout Booth at the Cranbury Health and Wellness Fair to create plastic-ware packets for the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen 
  • Teaching other Girl Scouts about Pollination at the Lego League Jr. Expo Event
  • Creating and running a Dance Talent Show Workshop for Cranbury Girl Scouts
  • Creating a Crayon Initiative Drive that other Cranbury Girl Scouts can continue
  • Preparing for a Bridging Bonfire in Cranbury
