Earlier this year, 14 student chefs in first through fifth grades submitted recipes for consideration. The top six recipe submissions were selected as finalists. Our finalists were: Allison Diamond, Zack Ware-Huff, Reya Nair, Nicholas Rizzo, Cameron Black, and Maddie Klein.
On March 14th, each student was partnered with an adult chef from Sodexo, and students were challenged with the task of preparing, plating and presenting their Healthy Mexican Dish to a panel of guest judges which included Mrs. Barbara Adams, Mrs. Carol Dey and Mr. Danny Rodriguez. The judges scored each recipe based on originality, easy preparation, healthy attributes, kid friendly, taste and plate presentation. We extend our thanks to the following Sodexo staff members for working with our student chefs throughout the cookoff: Kim White, Shannon, Loschiavo, Lisa Elsinger, Catherine Muto, Michelle Riker, Meredith Hesselein and Zofia Samojedny.
Congratulations to Cameron Black, who was selected as the winner of the competition! Cameron will have the chance to compete at the National Finals. Thank you to all who were able to attend and support our students!
