Due:
Over the weekend I read an article about Americans re-discovering self-reliance due to the pandemic. People are sewing, cooking more, planting gardens, fixing up their house and making repairs...have you found this to be the case for you? Maybe you are reading more or you've begun jogging...?
Me? I am sewing again- never thought I would say that! lol
Due:
Me? fav is midnight cookie which is chocolate with crushed up Oreos. Worst: rum raisin. Revolting.
Due:
This is week 8 of remote learning: what do you know now that you wish you knew at the beginning of remote learning???
Me? I wish I had know how much I would be sitting some days in front of a computer. I jog or walk every day, but I wish I had taken up yoga from the start!
Due:
This week we will watch and respond to a Crash Course video series about Digital Information. In the introduction, John Green (yes THAT John Green!!!) notes that not everyone has regular access to the Internet. Why is this a problem?
Due:
The author John Green narrates the Crash Course video series discussing Digital Information. Topics like fact checking, wikipedia, and fake news are included. Each week you will watch the video (each video runs about 10 minutes) then answer some questions. Some questions will be taken directly from the video, and some will be your own perspective of the issue.
Due:
It's National Poetry Month, so we are going to combine research with poem writing!
You will look up an important person using World Book Student. Read the article, then write an acrostic poem. You my work on this today during class, and during next week's class.

Due:
World Book is a well-respected, trusted resource for students, however I would never recommend this be the ONLY resource you use when researching for a project or paper. Why do you suppose that is?
Due:
You'll need to answer this question after you begin the assignment: who are you writing an acrostic poem about?
Due:
Select a current events article in World Book Student for this assignment.

Due:
Do you read articles on Wikipedia? Not just for school, but for when you are looking up anything online for yourself?
Due:
For today's activity I am limiting your research to World Book online, a database Cranbury school subscribes (pays for) to. Why? Why use a database rather than just google for the answers?
For this question I want you to think like a librarian or a teacher. Everybody just googles for the answer. Why am I making you use World Book online?? :)
Due:
This is a short research activity that should take no more than 30 minutes to complete.
You will use World Book Student (link attached to assignment) to look up and read the article about the Mount Rushmore National Memorial and answer one question.
Next, you will look up two more articles in World Book student about two of the Presidents memorialized. YOU WILL DECIDE WHY these Presidents were included in the memorial using your own words and your own opinion!
Finally, please copy/paste the MLA style citation for every article used onto your document.
