About Me

Catherine Madewell, known to her community as Cat, is honored to be a part of the Cranbury School Music Department and cherishes the opportunity to share her love of music with her students. She directs the Jazz Band, Jazz Ensemble, Concert Band, and teaches woodwind lessons to students in grades 4-8.

Growing up in South Jersey, Cat developed an appreciation for music at a young age, and has been playing the saxophone since 2008. Cat is a two time graduate of the University of the Arts, receiving a bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies with a concentration in Saxophone Performance in 2020, and a Masters of Arts and Teaching in 2021. Prior to joining the Cranbury Music Team, she had the incredible opportunity to student teach at Princeton High School and Princeton Middle School. Outside the classroom, Cat can be seen performing with her own band and many other groups in the NJ/Philadelphia area.
