Special Education Department
Special education programs are offered in preschool through grade eight in accordance with New Jersey Department of Education rules and regulations.
Once a student is deemed eligible for special education by the Child Study Team, an Individualized Educational Program (IEP) is developed to meet that student’s individual educational needs. IEPs are developed collaboratively and reviewed annually with input from parents, teachers, Child Study Team members, and if appropriate, related service providers (speech-language specialists, occupational and physical therapists).
Special education teachers and related service providers implement the IEP in collaboration with general education staff.
