About Me

Bonjour!  My name is Denise Gordon-Miller (familiarly known as Madame Miller).  I have been teaching French at Cranbury School for the past fifteen years.  I currently teach French to kindergarten, first, second, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grade students.  I earned my B.A. in French from the College of Wooster in Ohio, having spent my junior year in Paris studying at the Université de Paris - Sorbonne and the Institut d'Etudes Européennes.  When I arrived at Cranbury School, I was fortunate to be mentored by now-retired French teacher Michèle Guye.  I learned so much about teaching from her!  I love the French language and culture and am delighted to have the opportunity to share my passion with the students at Cranbury School.  I am also grateful to work with such a warm, caring and dedicated staff from whom I continue to learn every day.

My other passion is, of course, my family.  I live in Princeton with my husband John, who works in visual effects for film and television.  We are so proud of our children, Sarah and Jackson.  Sarah and Jackson both graduated from Princeton High School.  After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film Production from Emerson College in Boston, MA, Sarah is enjoying living in Los Angeles, CA and working as a commercial production coordinator.   Jackson graduated from Davidson College, NC, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.  He now works for a health-tech start-up.  When I'm not grading papers, I enjoy traveling with my family, playing the piano, watching French films, reading good books and doing crossword puzzles!  My favorite place to be: with my family on the beach in North Carolina.
