Hello all and welcome to my page!
I feel so incredibly lucky to say that I am part of Team Social Studies at Cranbury School! Every day I get to work with the most talented teachers and super students!
I started my career many years ago teaching American History and Women's Studies at Bridgewater-Raritan High School. I loved my time in Bridgewater and am grateful for the lessons I learned there, the students and colleagues I worked with and the opportunity to grow as an educator. It was very bittersweet when I resigned my position there to stay home for a few years to raise my children. Then, I was exceedingly lucky to begin my career again here in Cranbury. This is my 13th year working with this fabulous community, and I have never looked back!
My goal in the classroom is to provide an interactive, positive learning environment where all students feel comfortable to share, learn and grow! The beauty of the Social Studies content is it affords all of us the opportunity to learn from one another and promote general community and understanding. I am continually amazed by my students and love how they constantly challenge me to grow as an educator and see the world through different lenses! I so hope that my students become passionate about the world we live in, see their place in it and develop into lifelong learners!
Besides teaching at Cranbury School, I am also one of the advisors to the 8th grade class as well as a co-advisor to the lunch club PEAC - Perspectives and Equity in Action Club.
When not teaching, I love spending time with my family. I have two children - Rachel who is 22 and studying at the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!), and my son, Alex, who is 19 and a sophomore at Elon University (Go Phoenix!). We are a big Disney family and love visiting at work at Epcot! Reading is something I so enjoy and have been in the same bookclub for 16 years! Finally, I have a passion for theater and try to get in to see a Broadway show or two each year!
I am excited to work with your children! Thank you for sharing them with me!
Please feel free to email me with any questions, concerns or feedback!
